Hey guys Its hols and im bored and started developing a userbar based service for clickbank.. it basically shows how much u've made this month..u can also set a target which will help motivate u.. It'll take ur current stats and tell u how many sales u need to complete per day/week to finish ur goals and keep you going.. it'll also be a nice way to brag bt ur earnings at forums.. u guys interested? its free obviously and NOT a cb product! im currently tryin out the init versions.. follow me on twitter for future updates...
^^ oh yea that im doing as well... wanted to do a project to beef up my resume a lil bit, and for the tickle!(yup im a geek ) so thot it'll be useful doing smthin thats useful and is used in the "real world" so to speak!..
Are you scraping results from clickbank in realtime to your toolbar? If so, i would assume you require the user to store their clickbank username/password in your toolbar. Thats something i think a lot of people including myself would steer clear of.
That sounds great. Hope the application doesn't connect with facebook or twitter profiles without notice ) LOL Al.
@lty83 yes.. that is currently the only problem i seem to be facing.. the only other alternative seems to be that the users themselves send the css file to my server.. guess that'll be cumbersome... developed a simple version today.. will try to workaround the prob of users having to store their login and password with me( i mysel wudnt ) @precious007 i hate fb myself and i have no idea how to integrate stuff with twitter so no..it wont..
lol i see your point, stick some adverts on there then no sense in not making any money from it if you're putting in effort!
Will it be open source so we can see exactly what the code is doing and change it if we don't like something about it (like uploading user names and passwords)?
you will NOT be giving ur cb password.. it'll make use of the secret key.. security is the biggest concern for users..i get it.. which is why im working on smthin where u guys wudnt have to store the password on my server...
It doesn't have to be stored on your server, all it has to do is pass through your server to be deciphered or decrypted. I was a CIO (Chief Information Officer) for 12 years, I'm Cisco, Microsoft and Security Engineer certified. Corporate network security was one of my main tasks. I have software that can display an encrypted password in plain simple text (including Clickbank's) just by passing through my system or being intercepted by me (wireless). If you know what a fake certificate is then you know what I'm talking about. Attached is a fake cert image, the fake cert was created by the software (for the purpose of demonstration) and it resides on my local drive . It's my Clickbank login and this fake cert will decrypt my login and display it in plain simple text. It'll display anyone's login really if they logged in from my system or were within wireless range of me. That's why I was wondering if you're willing to show your source code because from there I can tell what's going on with your software.
ah thanks for that.. im working on making it secure.. as i said before.. u wont have to enter ur cb password ANYWHERE in the app.. that shud make it secure enuf cos theres NO risk of sm1 stealin ur cb pass
It sounds really great. Maybe it could save me some of the time I take every day just to check my CB account. Just hope you will not use it to bomb us with porn adverts and stuff like that!! I mean, some adverts now and then would be fine. This is not a project you do when you are bored!! It could turn out to be big. To me, it kind of solves a real problem, Or at least helps make something easier to do. Keep us posted.
