Totally agree. Since joining this forum I have had quite a few crappy websites registered. I drives me crazy - but of course do not approved those. Most of the offenders are websites plastered with google ads - I just hate that stuff.
Yes I totally agree to this. I know how much time and effort our editors are taking to review submissions thoroughly and List them. From 100 submissions we hardly get 20 quality sites. For the effort we take we try to charge. Still there are many low quality sites in our directory, which we regularly try to go back and find out everyday. Funny thing is our directory listings reduce day by day . Still people are interested in free stuff which does not offer quality. I guess people do not have the Confidence or the Guts to submit their site to Paid directories since they feel they do not offer quality content !!
Not necessarily a good choice in my opinion. * The editorial integrity is usually low in the case of free directories * Listings are not carefully checked therefore, your link may be sitting next to a dead-link or in the middle of "irrelevant content" which could hurt you in a long run. * Most of the "FREE" directories have no restriction on the quality of sites they accept. and the list goes on and on...
What is your target while creating the directory? 1. Earn money : Make it paid, fill it with quality websites, edit the incoming submissions carefully, give the best service that you can. 2. Drive traffic to your other websites: Make it free, editing all incoming links will be difficult. If you edit, then you will see the PR increase, otherwise you can accept all incoming submissions and people will visit your website because it is free. And, a recommendation from me: do not mix these two options.
Why? Can you newbies post the reasons for your assertions rather than running around posting one-liners to pad your post counts? Give us some indication of what you used to determine your opinion on the subject.
For example: The PAID option includes uploading images of products or services, more then one advert in different categories and lots of other advantages.
What kind of bullshit is that? In Free / Paid combination the only extras paid will get is Top of the List position. Why don't you visit AMRAY Web Directory check for example More Info Page and then tell us how extras wise Paid is better than Free. fastreplies
yes u right, free system is more good for maintain the pr,but they need fast submit the link, paid links is also god for high pr
In my honest opinion, I feel paid directories provide higher quality and don't let just any site become apart of their directory. I work hard to build a trust-worthy site in the eyes of Google, and wouldn't want my site to be associated with just any type of listing. In doing so, I feel paid directories put my mind at ease and provide better quality listings. However, there are still some good quality free directories out there, but far and few in between.
