There are dozens of all sorts Directories Lists, most of them are totally useless, floating around forums but there are also some lists that people recognize as the Best. Here are some that I think will make Top 10 in most knowledgeable Webmasters list. searchenginecolossus.com vmoptions.com vilesilencer.com directorycritic.com directoryroll.com onewaytextlink.com web-directories.ws whenweseo.com addurl.nu linksadmin.net You can Vote for one that you believe is the Best one amongst them fastreplies
So you know next time you vote that the whole idea behind the Polls, is to check box and post and not just post fastreplies
I voted for web-directories.ws - because the admin of the site is very hard-working, always tracking the updates in the market. What I don't like about it is that - it lists just about all directories - even those QBC directories on dropped domains. All other lists are very very rarely updated. I remember, the owner of vmoptions having one list of so-called authority directories (directories with sitelinks) - I visited the list, made a comment - suggesting many more directories which were not on the list - and also requesting him/her to remove some directories which were no-longer having sitelinks - and my comment remained un-moderated for nearly 2 weeks. I can understand why that list is not up-to-date. I would also like you guys to comment on the list by www.greatdirectories.org The site is very actively maintained - very clean and the admin takes just max. 48 hours to update the list.
A clean up date list of "quality" directories that isn't filled with just any old crap simply to inflate the numbers. Bigger isn't always better and I really dislike the "A list of 50,000 directories" and the first dozen or so are dead links and the next few dozen are full of nothing but crappy, unedited spam listings. You can tell quickly enough if your are wasting your time on most of these. It's one thing to have a huge list of directories but it's all together different to provide a clean, concise and usable resource. I voted for IVS and while it may not be the largest list I think for the most part the directories that are listed are simply better quality. IMO, Dan does a good job of reviewing directories and keeping the "junk" stuff out.
I voted directorycritic, even still bad updated is most comprehensive list of general directories, niche directories and article directories.
I voted for http://searchenginecolossus.com directories are mostly qualities. While some list will claim to be the largest, I still prefer quality list over quantity.
You must be talking about the paid directory list. Apparently you did not read the part that says: The reason why I did not respond to you is because I have countless other paid directory owners requesting I add their directories to that list. If these directory owners can't bother to read, in their efforts to self promote, then why should I respond? Anyway, that list is up to date with the directories I wanted to add. Sorry if it does not include your directories.
I don't know anyone who uses the listed directories. To be frank, I've not heard of one of them. Why didn't you post one of the well known and respected directories (not just a link exchange) such as www(.)dmoz(.)org
For the most part it's a matter of quality vs. quantity. Can't say I've tried submitting from all of them but the vast majority of the time I sit down to submit in bulk, I find myself returning to IVS. I know that every directory in that list has been reviewed with an impartial eye that understands what makes a quality directory. What good is a list of 50,000 if a huge chunk are no longer online, accept spammy junk, don't maintain their categories, etc?
voted for VMOptions list because I am getting a lot of traffic from there. It is my 1st referring source of traffic. To be frequently updated, to send as much possible traffic, to be popular
I have put together a short list here: http://www.seoco.co.uk/web-directories/ how come Aviva's strongest directories list isn't included? http://www.avivadirectory.com/strongest-directories/ Another one that's not too bad here: http://www.strongestlinks.com/directories.php
I vote for web-directories.ws. The admin keeps the lists up-to-date and also provides a few additional worthwhile resources, such as link building services which I have used in the past...
It's good for the list owners' egos. Does little for anyone using the lists, it encourages the naive to submit their sites to the crappy directories listed. Not sure why anyone would want to endorse those sites.
It seems all of them i have not see it before, so i think i can submit my site to those site, thank you.
Sorry mate ............ I never ever beg my directory to be included in any list I suggested all those directories ( I don't even know owners of most of them) which I often come across on my research on directories. Also, I am not talking about paid directory list - I remember there was a list (which is no longer there) -- about so-called authority directories having sitelinks. I will find the post (need lot of searching ) on DP where some-one announced his directory having sitelinks and the owner of the list volunteered to include it in that list. It was in Dec. -- and please believe me - I'll find that post. For now - its office time here - so must go - and I'll find it (the post) when I come back.
