2 domain names help

    ok i have a new webstite that i just built. i wanna know if using two domain name would be help me woth what im trying to do. i want to have one domain the main domain for seo purposes exp. www.bostonplumbingcontractor.com and the second domain which woukd be a redirect as my company name exp. www.acplumbing.com. for all my advertising purposes such as business cards ect. can I do this adn would this be the best way

    You wont get proper ranking on both of them if you have same content on both. "duplicate content"

    Google will choose what it thinks to be the better one.

    Also have a page like this boston-plumbing-contractor.com/boston-plumbing-contractors as your link page and put yourself in number 1 position on the page but offer exchanges with very relevant others (like Boston Bathrooms or Boston Kitchens or such like) (bare in mind there is a Boston in Lincolnshire oin the UK link to them/Boston Uk Businesses to)

    You onle need a simple site in place to do so.

    Simply keep the content (text) different on each site and even if the designs are the same they will then both get ranked.

    Avoid redirects if possible would be my advice.

    i agree with you if he have the same content if both site will be a duolicate content and google can banner you for that i think is more better if one domain for your landing page and the other one to another site that is about your niche and when people click the menu will be take to your main page

    You can keep one domain for SEO purposes and may be the other one for backup purposes or whatever you intend to do. However make sure you have the domains setup with 2 different providers such that both wont go down at the same time, which is a good thing. :)

    And regarding SEO, do all SEO you need on one domain. Leave the other one only for redirection purposes.

    You can tackle the duplicate content issue to an extent, I guess. Issuing a temporary redirect make search engines think that the redirecting domain is the main one and wont bother about the other one.

    But I am not sure how long you can do this! :)
