Anyone had experience with BuyDomains for selling domains?

    Hi,

I was just curious if buydomains is an effective and reputable site to list my domain names at. I believe it costs $20 per year for membership.

What sites beside this one have people had any good experience with?

    Thanks

    George

check sedo.com maybe you'll find it more useful, one reason will be that it's free and if you have a good domain you will get a nice exposure.

It all depends on your names and where potential clients look and find you. AfternicDLS , which is the listing platform that also lists domains at BuyDomains, reaches a large number of sites.

Sedo.com membership is free, but if a domain sells you will pay a commission as well, just like at AfterNIC.

Generally it may be best to list your domains on as many market places as possible in order to maximize your exposure.

Without knowing the type of domains you have to sell, I cannot recommend one market place over the other.

    Good luck,
    /Frank

I sold and purchased domains at sedo. It is free and secure but do not expect a fast sale unless you are ready to pay for their promotion packages. Their fee is standard 10% including escrow and wire fees.

I am new at buydomains. I see nothing special after paying $19 for the registration. Their 20% fee is also high. However, you will also have a standard promotion option for a 10% fee if you want to wait for years to sell your domains.

Can you share the market places you know?

For $25 a year you can get access to the Big 3. Sedo, which is free and charges 10%. Afternic, which is $20 and charges 20% for extended promotion and GoDaddy auctions, which is $5 and charges 30% for Premium listings.

Other then the memberships, I wouldn't advise paying any money upfront for extended promotional services like on Sedo... But on Afternic and GoDaddy, you are much better off taking the extended promotion that costs a higher commission if sold. Just price your domains accordingly to offset the commissions... Afternic and GoDaddy will offer you the most exposure possible. Godaddy is the biggest seller of domains and with their premium listing service, your domains will show up when people try to register similar domains...

Generally speaking, Sedo is complete crap, but it's free so it doesn't hurt to list names there.
