    hi guys

I want to build a email list of all my visitors to my site. So i know i need a simple form for the user to put in ther email address and name -

1 - Where can i get a simple form script/code? I am not much of a coder. I know HTML though, and using DreamWeaver.

2 - DO I need to keep info that shows they checked the "I allow you to email me" box?

3 - how do you manage your email lists? in a DB

I would like some beginner tips and tools if anyone can help. My hosting is on a PHP platform.

Better to use aweber they have everything you need. They also have free information that will teach you how to get started and how to get more subscribers and things like that.

Your best bet is definitely aweber. Even if you have the programming knowledge to build and maintain the list, getting the ability to send many emails/day or /month is difficult without getting a bunch kicked into spam folders by other SMTP servers.

How about phplist ? I'm interested about lists too. So far I have seen with phplist, it is free and customizable. I need more info and comparison on phplist and aweber from some experts here.

I see Aweber being recommended but as far as I am concerened they are scum.
They allow members to manually add you to their lists and will take no action when you register a spam complaint.

They are perfect for the spam advertiser.

If your serious about building a list, I would recommend aweber or getresponse, they will organize your list and provide you with opt in forms to place on your website.

I have had great success with Aweber, and it is recommended by virtually everyone I've come in contact with, even without affiliate links. Double opt-in set up by default, though you can disable it if you really want to. Double opt-in gets Aweber's servers white lists most often, so your emails get through.

Don't forget the other side of list building is getting traffic to your opt-in form. No traffic no sign ups.

Use an auto responder service, they will provide you with the code you just design the form. As far as managing the list, Aweber is probably the best for that. That or GetResponse.
