Importance of sitemaps

I just wondering...is it so important to have a sitemap...I was googling for some answers..found some..thats not so important to has one...

whats your opinions, pls?

im asking because i found these articles...what google said :

..that good optimalized websites doesnt need a sitemap.xml

My website don't have sitemap.According to your opinions, I should create a sitemap now.

 

Sitemaps only lets Google know which pages exist.
This means that lets say you have added a new page, which is linked from another page that doesn't change often, it might take Google a lot of time to notice this page, while if it would appear in the sitemap the page will be indexed much faster.

 

Yeah each time google indexes your website your sitemap is layout of your website and it will mostly pull information from your sitemap index pages to follow or not to follow depending on your restrictions... I put external links that arent relevant to my site on nofollow so that way i dont lose page rank value and google doesn't index a page thats not relevant... so yes sitemap overall is important in more than 1 way

 

Quite important if you want all of your pages indexed.

 

Sitemaps and Spiders go hand in hand.
If you wish all your Work to be indexed in Google or Yahoo or any other engine you need to build the sitemap so that the Search Spiders can scan your site very easily.

I guess it’s hardly suprising that with the focus on pleasing the search engines, XML sitemaps have become important. But if it’s all about providing a better user experience, then HTML sitemaps should not be forgotten.

 

in the long run a site map is something you should have some people dont but most do its another structure to your website and it will help get indexed and help google find some pages faster then if you never had a sitemap

sitemap is important only if the site is dynamic and changes frequently. in this case you can submit sitemap to inform search engines about the new pages in the site.

Sitemaps of your site did not affect your web site or blog but it makes easy for visitors and specially for search engines like google, yahoo etc. without site map may search engine take a long time to crawal and if sitemap exists then it will take very short time.
