Hello everyone, This is my first post so I hope I'm not asking a very silly question here. I have a new website that has been running live now for a few months but it's not getting the traffic that I had really hoped for. I've been reading up on how SEO can help me but it really seems like a daunting task, never mind time-consuming to go through my whole site and optimize it. Has anyone ever hired a consulant and if so, do you feel that the cost was worth it?
A lot of businesses recognize the importance of SEO services . Indeed, the right search engine optimization services will bring a lot of volumes of search and views to your website at all a pittance of cost compared to the amount you spend on traditional marketing.
Thanks for your fast reply, Copymoves. I honestly do not know where to start. When I begin a web search, literally thousands of results show and the prices vary immensely. I obviously do not want to be naive and just select the lowest quote...
If you have the budget, you can hire an SEO company to help you out. But, what matters really is the content you have. If you have a good number of high quality content that is useful to most people, it's sure to get good web traffic.
From reading up, it looks like an awful lot of work and I don't think I'll have time to make all of the changes myself, so I'm sure I'll end up hiring a company to do this for me. The information available is never ending and so confusing!
To generate a traffic for you website u should consider following factors as mentioned below:- 1) Keyword Research :- Its depends upon your theme and targeting auidence 2) Onpage Optimization:- a) Meta Tags Creation b) Image Optimization c) Alt Tags d) Header tags...and many more 3)Google Analytics:- Where u can analysis your website traffic 4) Off-Page Optimization a)Article Submission b)Directory Submission c)web 2.0 d) Classified Ads...and so on
First optimize your site with your keywords and then start building backlinks. and use social networking to get more traffic.
I would say that the Search Engine Optimization Starter Guide PDF by Google is a good start, Search Google for "google optimization pdf" have a read of that and that should give you a good start on where to go.
Target your page with less competitive keywords and do off-page work regularly. No excess link building. So starts slowly.
Well my advice is hire a seo (you can contact me if you wish for a quote tell me url/age/targeted keyphrases) Be aware of those "experts" ofering 100% guarantees or telling you they will get you rankings in like 2 weeks Regards
Wow, I wasn't expecting so many responses! Thank you all, I have a lot of research to begin with. I really do not want to be naive and delve in too deeply too quickly, I think that would be foolish. Thank you everybody for the links and tips above, I feel a brain freeze coming on though, lol.
My suggestion would be to consider what you have more of right now, time or money. For most start ups it happens to be time...which means take some time to read this board and others like it such as the Warrior Forum to learn about SEO. Start small and build from there. Learn how to do keyword research, find a few long tail keywords that should be relatively easy to rank for and start with those. Make some blog comments. Sign up for Angela and Paul's profile links. Get into a daily schedule for SEO and I can guarantee that 3 months from now you'll be happy with the results.
My advise would be unless you have alot of time to spend learning about website coding and the various different ways of improving a sites design and the way its been developed aswell as promoting it correctly which all comes under the term SEO then hire someone to do it. But be warned the trade is full of money grabbing spammers who will not get you long term results with safe methods so be very careful just who you choose to hire, I would advise making sure you find someone who can give you previous clients details as proof, contact them and make sure they have had a long term working relationship that is working well and constantly evolving as new methods are more effective and old methods become less effective.
SEO is a vast field and requires a fair amount of time consumption. Although if you fall in the right set of hands, you can get the job done for your money's worth. By the way there are actually some numb nuts who claim to do wonders for your potential websites and even digital point forums has banned a few well known Notorious Spammers of their times But it all goes down to the fact that you land with a good and reliable SEO person. Even i have started SEO but i have never offered services so far because i emphasize on quality and credibility. Good luck mate and i hope you get your rankings up in due time. All the best
