Sorry for the abbreviation. MNF= Micro Niche Finder (Great software to find uncompetitive niches in my opinion)
Do you use Global or Local Search Volume from Google Keyword tool? In your example of an estimated 24k searches, does this mean you will expect 24k hits to your site per month if you manage to go to #1 position? Nice and to the point tutorial though, I'm going to start a niche site sometime soon!
Though I always consider local search volume for big $ are coming from US and not from somewhere else... But of course one must consider also the global...
Yes, but google adword result always provides thin margin so the result always close.... If your site it on even top 3, expect 15K visits per month with such search volume... average ctr from organic traffic is around 5 to 10% so imagine if you have 500 visits per day.... even 20 clicks will give you around $15 if you have good niche... 10 similar sites is enough to earn $100 to $150/day or more...
Titing Kabayo: How about adult sites? Do you have one? If yes, how much are you getting off from them and what kind of revenue-makers do you use? I have a couple of adult domains myself, but haven't gotten the time to turn smut into moolah yet. I always end up being the smut consumer myself. LOL.
I'm in the same boat with an adult site. CPC and CPM just doesn't pay well does it? I think the best thing to do is to try and get some PR and sell direct links.
Ryan6: Tough luck, buddy. It seems like Adult = Free, nowadays. LOL. Titing Kabayo: Thanks for the reminder. I got carried away by your discussions on niche sites, hehe. I hope to see you on the adult section of DP here to discuss ways on how to get some moolah from overflowing testosterones out there. Hehe.
Wow.. very useful tips But how months actually you take to show in Google first page? I think it's quite difficult and need quite a long time
It depends what your site is about and if there is a lot of competition or not. If you have a niche that is not high competition then you will rank faster.
domain extension does have effect upon your SERPs. top level domains such as .com, .net and .co.uk are given a higher value than .biz, .info etc It may not be profitable to do that in this case though as the idea is to have many low income with a high volume of sites.
Any proof of that? Sure, a dot com may index at a faster rate, but once things settle down I don't see any "higher value"! As I posted earlier, throw "PageRank" into Google and look at that second spot. That poster was correct, it is all about the backlinks and content.
I have mention before in this thread that I have tested out a keyword.com and keyword.info domain. I build equal amount of backlinks and the .com domain is on the 2nd spot while the .info domain is on the 13th spot. This result might not be 100% accurate since I only did this experiment once. In anyway, no one really knows how the Google algorithm works but I certainly believe that Google is smart enough to see that there are too many spammers getting the .info domain to make quick money and thus will make it slightly more difficult to get into the 1st page of SERPs. In my opinion, I would rather spent a few more bucks purchasing A TLD extension rather than building more links. This is because I built links by writing more articles and submitting to articles directories as well as guest posts. Writing more articles = more outsourcing for me = More cost. Therefore, if you outsource, you might spent much more $$ than if you purchase a TLD domain right at start. Even if you think about it in another angle. If you intend to sell of the domain in 6-9 months for whatever reason, the .com domain will definitely worth 4-5 times more than the .info domain. Since the ROI is much higher on a TLD domain extension, why not spent another few bucks to purchase it. This is result in a "higher value" of cash. But if you are really hard for cash and want to start building niche sites, then go ahead with the .info domain and be prepared to build more links in order to get a good ranking in Google.
It's very hard to have definitive proof on anything in SEO as nothing is set in concrete however from my experiences of owning .com's and .biz's the .com always comes out on top. The Page rank example is not proof, it is interesting though.
