Can someone explain? Has it happened to you? Let's figure this out. I just don't understand what the heck is going on. I have several sites with decent PR (2-4) including almost all internal pages. In the last few weeks (even months) I've been noticing that my sites are losing internal pages on Google's index. Now, out of about 8 sites (unique content sites with PR, traffic and Adsense income) NONE of them have internal pages returning on google's site search: site:URL Only the homepage/domain is returning a result. I continue to get some traffic from google, not much and only from stuff that's found on my index. The weird part is that there is no common action or feature to all of the sites that could be causing this. Some sites have link-vault, others don't... some have adsense, others don't... some have affiliate links and others don't! The only similarity is ALL BUT 1 site is powered by WORDPRESS. The 1 that isn't is hand coded. None of them link to all the others, only like-themed sites and all have PR so they aren't banned. It's all too strange for me. I can't figure it out. I can't imagine being caught into a spam filter since none of them are spam sites. Can anyone shed some light on this topic? Pete.
Look at the listings on datacenters http://www.seo-contests.com/cgi-local/google.cgi?search=site:DOMAIN.com
Are the sites hosted on the same IP and do they have similar topic ? I am just guessing, but sometimes it helps when you are out of ideas.
EDIT: I just used Nintendo's tool to check out my sites. Only Google.com is giving me problems! The individual datacenters are all indexing 80% or more of the pages... odd, but at least there is something there. Nintendo, thanks! There's some more green dots comin' your way for this one!
I also just used nintendo's nifty little tool there.. Fascinating to see some of the domains i thought were hidden that google has picked up.. Those sneaky little punks
Originally that script was made for the seo contests, hince the domain. But it didn't take very long to discover that other use for it.
