Happened to me before, in my case it was a real sale that i made, just had it listed as a completely different product. Never understood why, and never cared. The amount was the same..

I think that some vendors gives a commission in order to motivate you promote their product or gain gravity. This happens when they know your CB ID of course or if you were subscribed to their aff program but never start promoting their product ( or didn't get a single sale).

I agree! It would be a good problem. lol

Do you use the hoplink ad builder? As that could be a way that you get unfamiliar product sales that are actually yours.

Many affiliates were paid $6.43 yesterday for a product they've never promoted.

It's just a vendor's trick to inflate the gravity artifically.

As long as affiliates continue to believe that high gravity products are selling well, they'll continue doing that. It's dead easy and very profitable for them to do so, because of the widespread (and completely mistaken) belief that there's some correlation between gravity and sales numbers, or between gravity and conversion-rates.

I assume you are not going to contact them and return the money. In an ideal world, I would return it but honestly it sounds like clickbank's fault ... probably not even aware of it so I'd say let them contact you. Their tracking system has had problems intermittently for the longest time ... which has led to claims of shaving affiliate commissions from affiliates of course. Really hard to say that the shaving is intentional because of cases like yours ... we're simply not behind the dashboard, ya know? ...

I would expect that somehow another person is sending traffic to your hoplink by accident. I wouldn't complain, that sounds like a good deal to me haha
