My old domain is taken by name.com, what to do?

I purchased domain name at name.com but it expired in November 11th. So I have problem because I need that domain again but it says that it's taken.
Nobody purchased it, but name.com keeps it for themselves for some reason, and that's a common procedure I think.
What should I do? How long will domain name remain taken by name.com? Should I buy another one or wait for it until it becomes available again?

can you check domain status in whois and post here along with nameservers ?

if it shows pending delete it will be released soon normally 75 days of the domain registration date

You could perhaps contact their support channels, they may be able to help you before they release it.

Are you sure it has been taken by name.com? I mean that someone else not taken it? check the whois carefully. If you have an account in name.com, you can contact their support team directly
