Im afraid free and good do not go together.

I am a firm believer that as soon as you pay for web hosting you will never go back to a free host. The problem is not only how limited you are with a free host but also no one will take your forum seriously if it's with a free host. This includes search engines.

I agree with sequencehosting's statement regarding free hosting. However if your really cannot afford a couple dollars a month for paid hosting there are some free hosting options out there that you can try out. x10Hosting, ByetHost, and more listed on www.thefreehosts.com Just make sure that you move to a paid hosting solution once you are serious about your website.

Zymic runs a pretty decent free hosting service :)
Ofcourse if you want hosting, I'd not advice to get a free one.

So far I think 000webhost is a good one.
But if you're making a serious website, you must not use free services

    hi,

Another free host that I know is www.hostrator.com. However, I have never tried them. I am using shared web hosting service from Dreamhost.

Yes I would say they will. I know LayeredPanel based freehosts have a 1-click installer for Wordpress. Cpanel freehosts generally have fantastico too.

Wordpress only needs a database, and just upload the wordpress release from http://wordpress.org

You might have some restrictions on URL ReWrite though...

Actually there are a number of hosts that ban wordpress on their servers. Usually connected with a bad experience with one of the hacks over the years. There are still a lot of older versions out there that haven't been upgraded.

Free - no. Cheap - yes. Try HostGator.

If you want put your ads on your web site I think you will need paid web hosting instead. No one free web hosting provider will allow you to place your ads.
