I guess it's an established fact that "organic search results" are the results on the left side of the search engine's page (Google's), and the "pay-per-click" results are the ones on the right side of the page. Bing and Yahoo of course have their own settings. We know about PPC ads, and we've read all about the importance of keyword selection. However, I'd like to ask the experts in this Forum the following question: how, or what, does an internet marketer have to do to appear on the "left" side where the "organic search" results are? Thanks.
you need to do SEO.. and promote your website on the internet however you can.. post your link in the sig is one way of doing it
Perform on page and off page optimization (seo efforts) for your website, then you can appear in the organics search results which appears towards the left. If you have optimized the content of your site for the keywords then you can naturally appear in the natural/organic search results.
SEO, Writing articles, back links from other websites are things that I've used personally that have worked for me.
Thanks for your suggestions. I gather from your replies that Search Engine Optimization is an absolute necessity in this case. I can see why. Interestingly enough, most customers out there are clicking on "organic search" results at a higher ratio than the PPC ads. But, it also seems that "universal search" results, according to some SEO experts, are driving the organic search results down to lower levels. http://www.searchenginejournal.com/google-and-yahoo-users-prefer-organic-search-engine-results/525/ http://www.seobook.com/excuse-me-where-did-googles-organic-search-results-go For newbies like myself, the climb to 1st place in the "organic search" field appears to be a serious challenge, to say the least.
