    Interesting...
when you add up what's been commented its pretty even, but it seems hostgator gets more "knocks" on customer service

Hostgator has amazing support, and my friend's site, which has almost 9000 unique visitors a day and is an online gaming site, is still on shared hosting. :O

Hits, storage and bandwidth don't mean anything anymore. Now virtual hosts look at the CPU minutes being used. They are all quick to put unlimited this and unlimited that in big bold letters, but none talk about their resource limits on the sales page.

I use Hostgator and am very pleased. They have an excellent support staff. I've never used another service, so can't compare.

I like Hostgator so far - I run a network of 12 search engines on a shared $7.95 a month account and they seem to run well. Tech support is pretty quick and very helpful.

I have to say, STAY AWAY from eHostPros (will not give them link, just look them up if you care). Terrible and slow support via IM only and a very difficult time with English so problems get drawn out over weeks instead of minutes or hours and translations are incorrect - VERY FRUSTRATING.

Well I would also refer HostGator to host your website, I am running 5 website at the moment with them since July 2008 and so far in last 6 Months I never face any problems or site down problems! Also their support system is best among all Hosts which I used and they always ready to solve issues if you face! So I would say go with HostGator!

I am not a customer of BlueHost, but from what I know, they are quite good and nice.

And I won't mind promoting them too.
