Do most directories make 300£ a month or more?

There are many Free directories with third party ads and banners.

Sometimes I wander do those directories make any money out of those ads?

I have no third party ads or banners on zygella, just input from registered users.

Maybe I am making a mistake..

However I just want zygella Deal Engine keep it clean and simply.

 

who told you that? it would be great to earn so much with a regular web directory
if you would own at least a PR5-PR6 directory then this is a different story

good directories make between $100 to couple thousands. However, it costs a great deal of time and money to make such directories.

 

You are right. Good directories take a lot of time and dedication. This is something that takes daily work and lots of effort.

 

An established popular directory can do 6 figures a year with ease, a few much more.

 

You are right, but those are sites like Business.com, Yahoo Directory, and maybe BOTW makes 6 figures.

but those are large companies running directories not a home run directory

 

All the sites you mentioned make over 6 figures with ease.

 

i agree. my point was those are companies with large bankrolls.


Its very hard (more like impossible) to create such websites if you are a stand alone person

 

99% do not make even $10.00 a year.

there are a hand full of directories that make $300.00 a month.

I have two PR3 directories - that make an average of $20.00 per month (each)

Directory business is long dead when Google think they are bad.

 

I am not sure what is the average income for directory owners. But I am sure the variance can be huge.
There are thousands directories on the net.

 

If you do feed the fish right and change water regularly, it will grow big...keep patience

 

I have never made £300 monthly with my directories, not even when combining them, of course ive taken bulk payments for bulk listings but never a steady £££ monthly.

I have directories that make about $100 - $300 per month, but they are all about 3-5 years old and I have put a lot of work into them. It takes more than what most people want to put in to make them successful. My first 2 years I made very little, but I kept pushing and finally turned it into a good business.

One has to be really patient with directories. Unless you have managed to survive for a couple of years without making any money, nobody will take you seriously.

 

Unless it is a high profile directory, it will be making almost nothing.

 

So many directories and yet only a few make some money.

 

Depends on PR and age (quality). New ones make 0, PR1 - lucky to make 3$/mo. From PR4 upwards probably go over 100$/mo.
