ExactSeek Featured listing program - Scam?

Discussion in 'All Other Search Engines' started by Rezo, Oct 31, 2006.

    Hey all,

One month ago I submitted and paid to exact seek featured listing program. They approved, and told that the link will be listed in 6-8 hours. After 2 days I searched a couple of search engines included in their network and haven't found my link (I searched the keyword I submitted!). Yes, I admit my keyword is popular, however it showed only 4 listings in one search engine of theirs wich I searched and none of them were mine. So further, I wanted to log in my account. And guess what? They say there is no member like that in their database

Did someone else use it, did you have such problems? Or is everything a mistake of mine?

I am waiting for your answers.

Why don't you contact them directly and ask your questions?

I used ExactSeek many times. I did have some traffic but it costed me about $0.30 per click in average. I think 7search.com and GoClick.com do better job.

Can you elaborate a bit more, people who come back and say something vague like that are usually the one in the wrong.

I have used Exactseek many times for years without an issue. Your going to exposure but the traffic is never great. Good luck.

I am content with their service. Using it for several sites without problem. Just checking my stats: one of my sites got 1700+ clicks. This is awesome for USD12. Can you reach it with AdWords? I doubt...

So, you are saying they do CONVERT (not just drive traffic) for you? If so, can you tell us the type of site that it worked on?

I have good results with blogs: related to sci fi movies and love for example. Of course affiliate links on blogs are related to blog themes.

I have very bad results for example with web design site.

Some Numbers: 1700+ clicks on Love blog, 1200+ clicks on Sci Fi movies, 100+ Clicks oon web design.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you - can I ask over what time period you got these clicks? Just curious if this was over a month or over the entire year? Thanks in advance...:)

I got one featured listing with them running into 22 weeks and generated 255 clicks so far. No conversion yet 'cos the problem is with my landing page. I didn't do anything about it.

I have usedn the exactseek featured listings over the years and have had decent traffic from them and OK ROI. The are a greta deal from $12 for 3 month or $36 for a year for a keyword. I doubt you can buy that kind of traffic from Google for anywhere close for the keywords I took. Some of those Google keywords cost me $3-5 per click and go me nothing

That is great information - thank you for being so open to share. I am going to jump in and try it also. Just one last question. When you guys track the traffic, so it all come from a single source within in your analytics (like - referrer = exactseek) or does it come from all the unique engines and directories?
