How worth is Yahoo Directory Listing?

How worth is Yahoo Directory Listing?

    Pros:

Very High Inner Page Ranks - no other directory than Yahoo & DMOZ has this.
    Daily traffic/hits in Millions
Those who have cash $$ can try Yahoo. Not a chance with DMOZ.

    Cons:

    Very Expensive: Costs $300/year.
    Cost subject change every year.
Listing not guaranteed even if we spend $300.

Lets discuss in detail .. :)

Please add titles "Pros" or "Cons" in your replies!

Take a look at this before committing to Yahoo. It may not be worth it.

    From http://www.seomoz.org/blog/8-predictions-for-seo-in-2010
They describe their thinking, so feel free to check it out.

#1 - This Real-Time Search Thing is Outta Here
#2 - Twitter's "Link Graph" is the Real Deal
#3 - Personalized Search is Here to Stay
    #4 - It's Going to Be a Two-Engine, 80/20 World
#5 - Site Explorer & Linkdomain will Disappear
#6 - SEO Spending Will Rise Dramatically
#7 - 2010 is the Year of Conversion Rate Optimization
#8 - More Queries will Send Less Traffic

Site Explorer gone? Not worth it to join Yahoo. Besides, Yahoo is slowly dieing.

    hey there...

the link back from yahoo directory is certainly very very valuble if you have extra peny to spend on SEO, else go for getting listed in DMOZ as its free but wait time is very hign

    cheers

I agree that yahoo dir is worth its money, it depends on the type of website but when it comes to SEO 300 usd is not that big an investment generally

ok. Thanks!! Can you also suggest some tips for them approving my site?

Can someone review my site. Its a 2 month old PR1 directory.

    www.divewebb.com

I wish to spend and put in Yahoo. But I dont want my money lost. I wish to make sure that they approve my site. Can someone please examine my site and let me know?

I need some real suggestions, like do i need more listings?, Do I need to improve my page rank before submitting etc.. (This is not to increase traffic. I am having a decent traffic already) :)

I have to agree. I have never gotten a site listed on dmoz or payed the yahoo directory fee. My sites still rank on the first page for my desired keywords with many ranking #1.

I have left Yahoo! In my strenuous search I am able to find few cheaper directories with inner page ranks! So, I would stick on to them that the most expensive Yahoo !

If $300 was for lifetime, I woudl have give it a try. Every year $300!! Now I dont feel it is worth.

If you are listed in yahoo directory, you may have some advantage in yahoo search rankings. That's what i have seen with my clients' sites. But there are many people that disagree with this.

I do suggest my clients to opt for yahoo directory, but I do it only if they have a big enough budget (in that case they don't really leave any option unused). If you are not serious about your site, or if it doesn't make you much money, or if you don't have a huge budget, I'd rather suggest you not to pay $300 for the listing.
