New Site has 7,800 Inlinks - Is this Good?

I just got a brand new domain about 3 months ago now, and after checking in Yahoo! Site Explorer today I noticed I have a cataloged value of about 500 pages and a whopping 7,719 inlinks! Is this a lot to have for such a young site?

 

yeah quite good . i think it's more of forums signatures or stuff . is it true?

i checked backlinks of your site useing http://www.afqam.com/Check_backlinks.htm and i got 5,462 backlinks very nice

 

A lot of it is from forum signatures, but most of the links are actually from blog posts - either being linked in a blogroll, blog commenting, or being mentioned somewhere in the post. It's just crazy because my newest site of 3 months has almost 8,000 backlinks, while all my other sites (1, 2 years old) have a max of 3,000 or 4,000.

 

This is not permanent and not feature link, this is not beneficial for long term view.

Just keep building links at this rate and google will accept it as natural as some new sites do boom like this.

 

I can tell Google already has tons and tons of my pages indexed, I'm just curious about how this will affect my traffic, and therefore earnings? It's not like I've seen a huge increase in traffic all of a sudden, averaging around 80-100 uniques daily on the site so far.

you just check archive of the domain via archive.org. Most probably it was a old domain which dropped and nobody took it.

You are very lucky with it, no google ban will follow, for already existing domains.
If you have built that number of link in 3 months - then you are a great link builder

I sincerely wish that half the DP community would speak in ENTIRE sentences rather than fragmented shards of sentences... That being said, I don't think that your backlinks are half bad, buddy. Over 7K in 3 months is quite impressive and I think that it's going to give that page a lot of weight when it comes down to organics.

7,000 backlinks for 3 months effort is not surprising. Sometimes one single comment can generate a few hundred backlinks due to internal links.
But the 500 pages is very rare!
