1991, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2005 ... all of these dates have been predicted to be the end of the world. The truth is we are near the end of our resources and this was never predicted by Mayan's or any other religion or group. 2012 will see some extreme weather conditions like we have seen over the last couple of weeks, but the end of the world I very much doubt and if it does happen it does happen. We can preserve our planet right now to the best of our ability by doing simple thing such as switching off lights in rooms you do not use, not overbuying food and consuming food you currently have. If you are going to the shop which is a 30 minute walk away or less get some exercise and walk instead of taking the car (this alone will lower carbon emissions by 10%).

From what I gathered about the article, they are saying that the asteroid could kill hundreds/thousands of people. That's pretty far from the end of the world.
^ This ^ Unless there is some type of evidence to back it up, I won't believe in any of this "world is going to end" nonsense. Now an asteroid, that's something legitimate to worry about.

Anyway I think it's not gonna happen, Well if something happens it will be caused from people's obsession, or panicking. =) Some people even might cause it from that thought: '' Well, we're gonna die tomorrow anyway, why don't we throw an atomic bomb to wipe out the Earth? End of the world is a truth no one can refuse it but God will know about it but as according to my knowledge the end of the world will be at the same day when this universe came into being.

well it seems that there is an asteroid moving towards earth, which if not stopped could cause much more destruction than a nuclear bomb, the scientists are trying to figure out a way to prevent this from happenning this asteroid will hit earth in 2036
