Google Multi Billion Dollar Scam

So today I noticed a very interesting thing what Google has done.

If you notice - Google is one of the most popular websites in Iran (#1).

As US currently does not allows American Companies to business deal with Iran, and that means they cannot use www.google.ir

But interestingly they did not blocked google.com as www.google.com is popular in Iran.

I wonder if Google does not show ads for searches on google.com for Persian Traffic. After all google is a company and not a non-profit.

So by serving ads through google.com to persian users and not reporting it, arent they violating US regulations?

Technically they are not allowed to do business with Iran.

However it seems they have already got their copies of Windows 7
Interestingly according to news (Iran has failed to get Windows 7 working)

But if you check global stats then it shows something else.

technically speaking these is nothing wrong with Google serving ads in Iran. Legally there is no business contract between a company in iran and a US based company...in other words...there are no transations.

Although US of A imposted these sanctions..it doesnt mean that Iranians cant buy off ads or even better still....place ads within the network

Well if they accept ads from iranian publishers then technically they are breaking the law

The Law forbids USA companies with transacting with Iranian businesses or government entities. Basically no tangible goods can be sold or purchased under a jointly signed contract.

However showing search ads (digital information) to our Iranian friends is not in violation, nor is accepting advertising money.

    Up with the Iranian people!!!!!!

    Down with their government!!!!!!

    Freedom rocks!!!!!!!!!

I totaly agree. Us of A cant preach freedom to the World and liberty for Iran if they arent allowed to buy ads from Google. I dont like the double moral to this

The law is actually designed so that Iranians can be free of the tyrants, I know the logic seems flawed but the thought is by making life difficult for the government the people will rise up and rebel.

Seems like it's starting to work.....

What is amazing is the USA and others are starting to work into Irans culture. I saw a vid of an Iraniain girl and guy rapping....very cool!!!

    :)

there is logic in denying Iranians the right to buy and place ads with Google. There is something pretty disturbing about an Iranian rapping. For a country with over 10,000 years of culture I think the best idea would be to ban rap in the whole of the middle east :)

Actually rap is poetry that is sung....

poems have been around for the same 10,000 years

so your view seems a bit narrow minded unfortunately......

This did start as a discussion about online business and I would be prepared to debate this you on another level..BUT dont even attempt to compare rap to poetry. Most poets would turn in their grave if they knew yo9u were comparing culture to rap. A bunch of dudes huddled around a burning trash can with their pants on back to front and 5 kilos of chain around their necks ALL ranting and raving about their " hoes, clubs, bitches, guns and gangsters" has zero to do with culture or poetry.

Lets agree to disagree and I ll I ll gladly stay "narrow minded" :)
