Hi guys, anyone have an idea how it could be that I have backlinks for Yahoo, but no for Google. Anything wrong in the indexing? It could not be because of the age of the site or how recent the backlinks are because this happened in a new site (2months) and in an older site (7months). Looking forwards to your ideas. THx
google is slower than yahoo in terms of showing backlinks. also, they dont show all the backlinks either, just show a sample of the links you have. if you want to get better idea about how many backlinks you have on google, check google webmaster tool which will give you better idea

The bottom line with getting information on backlinks is that no service gives you an accurate picture. Why? Well with respect (and I apologise for sunding like a complete and utter cynic) but I would venture that it is because they can't monetize it properly and as such view the service as more of an "add on". As a rough "rule of thumb", Google report about 5% of the number of links out there and it can take some time for the public side of the link operand to show up at all. You'll get more of a picture, though still not completely conclusive from your Webmastertools account. Yahoo report about 20-35% of the links out there also. With regards to a lot of the independent link reporting tools. It all depends upon where they are getting their data from and which sources they are mining.
Yeah they are there in google... they just don't show up and you think they are not there, but they are.
Good point and you use poor link building meaning better link building will show up and maybe immediately.
