In one of my sites, in today`s stats i see someone who clicked 5 times on my Google ads [at different hours] .Now, is there any risk? Should i disallow his IP of reaching my site?or i shouldnt care? [this website gets about 5-900 U.V./day] I`ve heard a lot of people losing their AdSense acc so i am a bit worried. What would you do if an IP clicks more then once or twice/day on your Ads?Would you take any action?
Many here worship at Google's alter. They will try to convince you that Google is omniscient and infallible. Personally, I am not of that faith. I believe that if someone takes it to mind to get your Google AdSense account taken away from you, then they can. All one has to do is to raise a red flag of foul play somewhere in the Google metropolis and Google will drop you like a hot potato. There may be foul play, but it doesn't necessarily have to be you that is doing it. In Google's eyes you are considered guilty until proven innocent. How many major corporations have had their computer's hacked? It was probably believed by these corporations that their systems were safe, until they were proven wrong. If corporations with many high paid IT "experts" were unable to prevent a hacker from breaking into their system and stealing their files (often customer credit card #'s), then what makes you or anyone here believe that some trouble maker couldn't successfully cause you to get your Google AdSense account dropped? If you read many of the threads or posts in this forum where someone has lost a Google AdSense account they're automatically labeled a cheat and subsequently stoned. It could be that either Google is these people's God and you do not ever speak ill of their God, or they are Google employees and their job is to make sure that no one speaks ill of the Google AdSense program. Do you remember when AOL came under criticism because they paid employees to intimidate people who were dissatisfied with AOL and wanted to cancel their service? They were set upon by ill mannered AOL employees who used threatening and intimidating tactics to keep people from canceling their accounts. In many cases they were told outright that they could not cancel they're accounts. My own parents were victims of this. They were charged for AOL service for several months after canceling their AOL account. If AOL as big and well known as they are were guilty of "making a mistake", why would anyone trust Google of not also being capable of the same? Just a thought.
Well google normally ignores by not counting those clicks but if this happens on large scale u could face problems
How are you counting those clicks? In the past, click-counters that I used could not actually track "clicks" reliably - they could only track mouse-overs.
Did you get payed for the clicks? How did you know it was the same guy "i see someone who clicked 5 times on my Google ads [at different hours" If it was click fraud then don't worry cause Google will know. If the same person keeps clicking the ads then ban the ip address from ht file or cpanel.
I don't think you really need to worry about that. You only need to worry if you are that visitor clicking your ads.
Don't bother anything about it. Google will verify about those clicks according to the means that they have. Better keep on eye on that IP.
Don't count to heavily on this. The only letter you may get is the one informing you that your account has been closed. You can appeal their decision but it will most likely do you no good. Reading some of these posts I'm reminded of that 70's-80's TV program "Fantasy Island". People would go to this island and their fantasies would come true, more or less. Today we would call it "Google Island" where many people still believe that fantasies can magically come true. Google is not a deity. It is a man made organization that runs on computers using programs written by man. If Google were either knowingly or unknowingly cheating people who would know, who would tell, who would believe them and who would care? As long as there are people benefiting from X then those people will always turn a blind eye to X, and X will always have these people's blind allegiance. There is nothing wrong with people making money from the Google AdSense program. It is a good way to make enough money to pay for your website costs if nothing else. But make no mistake about it... bad people exist, and people who turn a blind eye to this fact enables these bad people. One person can most certainly cause you to loose your Google AdSense account. The blind allegiantists will tell you it can't be done, that Google sees all and knows all. Don't believe it. Put your faith in God not man made Google, Inc. or their man made programs. How many versions of Internet Explorer are there? Is Microsoft not a big, rich and powerful company? Do they not have top-notched programmers working for them? Yet, they are continually having to write version updates to their existing programs. Why? Because there are bad people continually probing IE to find a chink in the armor to exploit. The same goes for viruses. Does your Anti-virus and Spyware program update on a continuous basis? Why? Because as soon as a fix for one virus is written a new virus is also written. Do not believe those who still believe the world is flat, when they tell you that your Google AdSense account is perfectly safe from bad people. That Google and only Google has programmers who can write the perfect code. Fantasy Island didn't really exist and neither does the myth that Google is perfect and that everyone who has lost their Google AdSense account did so because they cheated. The fact is, you cannot protect yourself from someone who takes it to mind to get your Google AdSense account closed. Nor can you be guaranteed that Google will pay you for all your legitimate clicks. When you sign up for Google AdSense the only agreement you are making with them is to let Google make far more money using your website than you'll ever make from Google. You provide all the work and the money to get a website. You provide all the labor in maintaining and keeping your website content relevant to attract visitors. Google then uses your website as a billboard to sell advertising to others. They get rich and in turn you receive a pittance. It's a sweet deal. If you have a good website and you get a fair number of visitors, you should be able to sell advertising space on your website directly to businesses. Instead of that money going to Google it goes to you. I read in Readers Digest where a family took an extended vacation touring the country in their RV. They created a blog website where they chronicled their journey and then sold advertising space on their website and RV to national companies. The money they made on advertisers paid for their travels and all their bills. Business are always looking for a place to advertise. The point is, you don't need Google. And you don't have to live in fear of Google getting mad at you and taking your bicycle away. Use Google if you like and take what pittance they throw your way, but in the meantime you should try to ride without the training wheels - make your own money by selling space on your website to advertisers directly.
It happens to all of us. If Google feels its invalid, then they will not count it. No need to worry unless it is a frequent occurrence across all your websites with Adsense.
If it was only one incident, I wouldn't worry too much about it. However, if it keeps happening you probably want to ban that IP address (or configure your address so visitors from that IP address don't see ads). I had the same experience - and it was my own IP address so it freaked me out a bit. That's why a few clicks aren't usually a big deal unless those are the only clicks you are getting or they are happening day after day. That is totally not true. Google occasionally sends a warning, but the vast majority of people who have their accounts disabled don't get any warning at all.
it's ok don't worry, you can send google adsense support a message telling them that someone is clicking on your ads on purpose to kick you out of google adsense, tell them to check it out post your ID publisher, site url and your name. good luck
How do you know it is the same person clicking at different times? Where is their IP address detailed? I write articles to generate google ads which will be of interest to the people reading the article. Sometimes 1 page impression will generate 3 and even 5 clicks. The first time this happened it did freak me out but if you write about a type of product and it generates adverts from people selling different makes of the product it is to be expected. It is similar to a person going into a shoe shop and trying on several pairs of shoes made by different shoemakers.
