A question for you all. A few months back I thought of 2 very vindictive things Google could do to twitter. 1. Include live tweets in SERPS results 2. Include twitter as a factor in SEO Sounds all good for twitter? Nope! 1. Including Live tweets will do eactly what it has done today " Twitter is over capacity. Too many tweets! Please wait a moment and try again. " 2. Twitter as an SEO factor will create lots of spam and create havoc for them to run and maintain. Big bully tactics from Google to survive its first real challenge? I think so. Caffeine does both of these things .
I dont waste my time with twitter. The site is only a fad and will die out as soon as something better is created which wont be hard to do. All I see is spam and usless information on twitter.

I daily get anonymous messages from Twitter that I'm being followed by someone I don't know with a female name. After the first few times clicking through just to find out the girls account has been banned. I now just delete anything from twitter as soon as it hits my inbox. I think Twitter is the next wave of spam, hurry up and die already, sell out to Google or Microsoft and get your thing fixed.

Maybe tweets in SERP can help in big news like when Michael Jackson died, or else it's just a dull space there.
But Google may look at frequency of subjects in tweets and say that the content you have on your site is current and relevant?
Your title is bit misleading. There is no Comparison or Google Vs Tweeter. Everyone knows Tweeter is dominated by most marketing companies. Tweets as someone has said above, over 80% of them are SPAM!
Totally agree with you. Google is all about ranking and twitter is all about social networking, traffic.
