My team is currently putting together a conference for black hat marketers throughout North America for August 2010 and were considering which location to hold the event in. Your insight would be greatly appreciate. If you choose other then please post a thread with respect to where you would like the conference to be.
I received a few different interested parties for Florida, specifically in Orlando. We'll see what the results are here, and other places in the next couple of weeks.
black hat marketing... I've tried using some techniques for a while. Maybe I'm not good enough due to lack of experience in SEO, I'm not doing well with these techniques. And they are hurting my site in different ways. I think black hat marketing is good for a specific group of people...for example, someone who are looking to promote their sites, increase PR and traffic in a short time and then benefit quickly via launching link farms or selling the domain for money quickly. Maybe I'm wrong. But it is just not that right for me.
Regardless of personal views on the effectiveness of black hat marketing I'd prefer to hear opinions on the ideal location - for a black hat marketing conference in this thread. Perhaps such a discussion and views on the subject of bh marketing and bh seo should be reserved for a another thread if jNorth is inclined to start one. I may even be interested in following-up to the intelligent and well-thought out responses. It seems that the dominant area are definitely in the United States. Los Angeles and New York are seem to have the most response across all my all the boards that I'm taking polls from.
[QUOTERegardless of personal views on the effectiveness of black hat marketing I'd prefer to hear opinions on the ideal location - for a black hat marketing conference in this thread.[/QUOTE] LOL. Just out of curiosity, I would really like to know what real blackhat marketing stunts still still work. I have a feeling that what many savvy marketers are calling blackhat isn't blackhat at all and in reality are no worse than most of the suggestions that we see in posts on here every day.
Looks like either Toronto or Vancouver based on several polls on several sites. I appreciate everyone's insight. Please feel free to contact for more information on updates for the event.
