you can try hooking putting a windows disk in and booting to the disk and repairing the OS. There is an option in the setup to repair windows. That will just replace all the system files but leave your applications and documents and such in tact. If you have your windows xp disk then use that. If you don't have it, see if you can call microsoft, bi*t*h at them and say you want them to send you a disk so you can repair your system. you might have to buy a new one if you don't have one. if you can't do that, I would take the drive out and take all the data out (connect it to a different computer via sata or usb) and then wipe it and re-install. EDIT: to change boot order, push f12 and use the menus to change the boot order so the system boots the disk first and then save and exit. it will restart, then say "push any key to boot from disk..." and you do that.
This is what happened to me recently and there was his kind of trojan virus I can not repair damage you rest my mind and dropped off a new windows
Try Sam's solution dude I'm sure you 'll get it solved.I too thought of giving the same solution for this problem.
I tried but safe mode and re-pairing was not working anyhow i got my PC back yesterday from repairing shop.
well I am glad you got it fixed. Just so you know, using the windows disk will almost always work. Just so you don't have to pay someone to do it.
recovering the windows xp in older period using the recover my pc to earlier period is best then repair!
Did you ask them for suggestions as to how they managed to do it! If it indeed was a repair using windows cd or something else? Regards, RightMan
He placed hard disk in another pc and backup data then format the window and its a fresh copy of win, i was doing only repairing option becoz i don't want to loss data my 2 years work ... once i lost more than 3 years work and feel so bad. [ i did not want to test portable cd , becoz little knowledge is always dangerous.]
Just remember that pretty much any missing .dll can be found online, and any error you encounter has been found before. Better off spending the time researching on Google than asking in a webmaster forum
