You can send people to an opt in page from anywhere....Yahoo answers, forums, youtube, all these high traffic sites...Give them something free and worthwhile...Then keep in touch with them, don't let the list go dead. Offer them freebies and offer them other products they might like to buy...don't over do it.... Give them value and they will spend... I have lists for everything...The best lists are of people that have already bought from you because you know they are buyers.
I've already found the money years ago .. i wasn't asking a question how to get traffic or build a list... I was saying that you have to have traffic before you can even get a list... so the money is in traffic, then how you leverage that traffic is how you make money...

I agree with James. In any internet marketing, traffic is the name of the game. No matter how good is your free product if no one ever seen it will be as good as dead. Getting more opt in means you are getting more traffic. Now the question is, where do we need to start?
Although some of your advice is good it is not the only way to make money online. My biggest earning site is one that I build a relationship with the subscribers but I have 8 sites that have no subscription capture and they bring me in $300 to $500 a month without having to do anything (except the original link building).
