hi my site has only 2 gig data.I want to have back up at another server. I want to send backup every week manually by ftp. which service or hosting you offer?
You can buy any cheap hosting or you can go with a company that specializes in backups like http://www.bqbackup.com/
webbycart also offers good backup services. Another thing you can do is get a very small VPS and run the backups that way. You won't need much RAM (64-128mb would do) and you already know how much space you need - and you won't need a control panel. Just set up FTP, like proftp or pure-ftp and do it that way. In the end, the services just might end up costing the same depending on the company, but either way, you'll get experience. Good luck.
thank you I have dedicated server for my site and I am using r1soft program.it is greatbut my site doesn`t have income and it is not correct way to pay at least $50 for this purpose .at the same time my site is growing may be some months later I will have to pay $70.I want to remove it.then I am looking for cheap way of back up vps is little expensive for this purpose .I think the price of bqbackup.com is better just $5 for 10 gigs... I want to spend not so much time for sending files every week. which way is better? 1- FTP`ing all data every week 2- using Rsync program (bqbackup.com admin says most users use it) 3-FTP synchronize utility(just heard about it)
Why don't use third party backups service? To my memory that is not so expensive at least with per GB rates
rsync backup method transfer files that are updated, this way you are saving on bandwidth transfer. Another good backup provider you want to take a look at is rsyncpalace.com.
I think rsync is good choice for me. by my research I found out: every week I or server manager send files to remote server.I chosed one backup site with good price.first time it takes too much time but later we will not have to spend too much time again bc rsync send the files that has been changed. one question: I have to send whole server(about 30 gigs) or I can send data of my site(2 gigs)?
