    Guys,

I decided to get a 15 alpha. domain and it's absolutely keyword/niche targeted.

Now I was reading this ebook that said, "the longer the alphabets, the poor it is for retaining hits".But does it seriously matter ?, I mean I want to use it for online marketing, selling my product.

So I just wanted to know from you guys. Is it bad to have a 15 character long domain?

    Your opinion is appreciated.

    Thanks

If it contains keywords it is good for you :). In Fact I would say if you are having it for your business site and it contains your core keywords It is best for you.
If you could List the domain name here we could analyze it better ;)

Well my advice would be to look for a shorter domain.
A good domain name should be easy to remember. very few people will be able to remember your 15 alpha domain. If you want to get better rankings in SE than buy a short domain and build a keyword specific addon domain to it. Working on a 15 alpha domain isn't worth the effort in my opinion.

Thats what I thought mate... I would've loved to list the domain name here, but it's just a once bitten twice shy position for me lol... ;)

That is exactly what the book said.:) I would say, in general a long apha. domain should be avoided. I mean no one would have wanted a website like "orkutthesocialsite.com"

but my niche is about marketing unique products online. Wouldn't a 15 alpha. domain put me on top of a highly competitive keyword?

    15 characters isn't too long.
I'd suggest you to stay with it.

    Hello Dear,
In my opinion, we should focus on short domain name, but 15 alphabets are not so long. 15 alphabets are very normal. I had made 1 site 2 months ago. My site's domain has 14 alphabets totally focus on keywords, and my site ranking top in Google. Now you can understand that keywords are most important in domain, not the count of alphabet.
