Dear DP, I have recently written a post with some excellent tips for adding content to your site, ranging from the absolute basic to the fairly technical. You can check it out here: Content It's definatly a good starting point for new website/blog owners and has some top quality tips...
It's the 1st part of the "website business model" series I have designed which is very useful for beginner's. The second part which is a SEO checklist for beginner's is also done and then soon to come is a generate backlinks type checklist and finally advertising. They will be be wrote in much the same way, short but clear.
Thank you very much - exactly that it is targeted for beginner's in a nice clear steps. As will be the aim for the rest of my website business model series. Thanks again for the kind words. Glad to be of help.
Thanks for posting! I find it interesting and useful for newbies who want to make it big internet marketing arena. I look forward for your next articles.
The word content is abstract! It does mean nothing in particular. Anyone shall have an idea what do they do and to have qualified authors, journalists or anyone else who has an expertise in certain field of activity. Anything else is useless publishing which will not attract attention.
Thanks again, really appreciated. My aim will be to focus on the beginner market of advising tips etc as that is by far the bigger section.
Humour: This point is universal, it doesnt matter what topic you write about as everyone enjoys laughing. If you make your content funny then you are far more likely to infuse the reader with a reason for returning. Don't go over the top as your articles need to maintain other key aspects but a little joke here and there will do wonder's. Interactive: By making your website interactive, you will create an added "presence" and add enjoyment to the time reader's spend surfing your site. This can be anything from a poll, a competition, a forum and many other things. A good way of doing this is adding cool widgets to your site that they can use for their benefit.
I'm quite with you on the point about humor and interactive. I believe they are the two most important factors following being informative. They are among the most basic things to attract loyal readers, especially when you launching an entertainment related website.
Yep - If you take your time to right quality, funny, informative posts its a win win situation. On the subject of humour, I had to add this to my sig as I found it genious: "all i ever wanted was a honest weeks pay for an honest days work"
