this is exactly what i did. more importantly i feel you should rotate your sales between many hosting providers on cj.com i was doing this but got comfortable with hostgator and the shave began. it is also better to use many different hosts because for myself as web master i want as many different ip addresses pointing to my design site for as possible seo purposes. still no response from the gator representative on this thread
Well, if your looking for hosting commission, use dreamhost, best hosting ever, and GREAT commission( been payed already, so your safe ), besides, they're great hosts, if you want/need coupon pm me or google for dreamhost coupon.
i use dream host for my sites, not my clients and yes their servers are way better than gators. dream host lets you use scripts that gator doesnt. it is a little exprensive for my clients, double actually and my clients need basic stable service without the need for resource hogging scripts. for more savvy clients i bring them to dreamhost and never ever had a problem getting paid. i also offer the maximum coupon code available for dreamhost. most companies will shave this is why you have to sell your own products and processes you own paypal and credit card transactions.
I've been working with hostgator for over 2 years sending them affiliates, i currently make just over $1,500 through hostgator themselves! now i know i have hit and miss sales with them, but they don't shave- I noticed they get alot of people signing up through others cookie stuffing affiliates, i've always been paid through commission junction program, but they do hold sales back ALOT!! due to they get alot of customers signing up on a monthly basis which then the customer must pay for 1 EXTRA MONTH OF HOSTING!! before you get the $100 commission, if they forget about paying the hosting (i know alot do) then the customer pays late, and you DO NOT! get the $100 credit due to late payment of the customer! my 2 cents
I don't mean to bump an old thread, but sadly I'm having the same problem with Hostgator currently. I referred a client I'm making a website for to them, and they've now reversed the commission with no explanation or anything. I'm trying to get an answer through contacting them on CJ and get my commission back, but all these horror stories I'm hearing are leaving me a bit less than optomistic about the situation. For those of you who've been through similar issues, any advice?
Recently i too refered a dp members now they say that the sale has come from some coupon site and not mine
I personally have found HG to be pretty good, I dont send them alot of volume but they always pay up. Sometimes cookies & browser settings affect conversions too.
IX Hosting $39.89 $80.46 HostGator $39.66 $32.24 EPC 3 Months vs last 7 days... maybe the PR is not winning people over?
if you have read this thread i was told by a host gator rep they would work with me to solve the problem. i sent information and they never got back to me or posted a follow up. do not use hostgator. they ripped me off plain and simple
That's sad, I have always had great earnings from HostGator! Although I almost always refer my web design clients through HostGator, so this is why I am usually doing very well with it.
Please PM me with every transaction ID of any reversed CJ commissions from your account and I will list the reason for each one. We've been with CJ multiple years and we pay out over $400,000 a month in affiliate sales. If we were running a scam or shaving off sales without proof, would CJ really be working with us as a top advertiser? Please feel free to PM the same.
Hey guys, When does Hostgator usually lock there commissions? I have one sale from November still in Extended status. Thanks
