Why would someone just tell you how they build there ranks to get to #1 position. If anything you'll get answers like, "Go to my site to find out"

Dont know if it makes a difference but I submit the page link to directories and leave the page link in blog comments. Certainly cant hurt.

The best method is to start with article marketing. Then go for blog commenting and other stuffs. I hope this will help.

if your keyword is less competitor you can do blog commenting,forum posting,etc (free link building)
and if your keyword have lot competitor you must have some fund to buy link from high PR

 

Blog commenting, Forum posting, Profile Links, Link Wheels, Web 2.0 , Article Submissions, Press Releases to name a few. Just research and you will find even more.
