Is there anyone else using PayflowPro with Optigold? Just curious what steps others are taking to get around the PayflowPro SDK upgrade. From what we were told, transactions will cease on Sept 1st, 2009 if we dont upgrade this. So either need to somehow upgrade the CCauthorize module or move over to Authorize.net. Just curious what others are doing or going to do. Thanks.
We've been using Authorize.Net. That's probably the only route to go. It'd be nice if the CC Auth Plugin could be made to work with OSX though... We still have to use an older iMac with OSX and Classic on it to bill CC's. Kinda archaic if you ask me.
I am also very interested to know the answer to this. At the moment it is putting me off using Optigold. Anyone?
Looking at the documents from Paypal it is pretty clear the existing Optigold to PayFlowPro is not going to work after 8/31/2009. We are looking at switching over to Authorize.net. Ultimately we should be off Optigold due to the PCI issues, but not by 9/1. I am assuming people are still running on the Authorize.net gateway without issue? > I am also very interested to know the answer to this. At the moment it is putting me off using Optigold. Wow you need to read the forum. There has been no development, or support to speak of for 2-3 years now other then to purchase new licenses. Those of us that already have Optigold up and running have been nursing it along until something forces us to upgrade. The PayFlowPro SDK is a subtle shove to those of us too stubborn/lazy to move. PCI compliance liability should have been the moving most of us. At this point I would never consider Optigold as a new purchase. Vernon (Lazy user still on Optigold)
I'm using Authorize.net with OG without any major issues, aside from the fact that there is no CC Auth plugin for OSX which kinda makes billing a CC manually a bitch. Other than that Authorize.net and OG work just fine together.
Mia, We moved over to Authorize.net and for the most part running good. How do you deal with credits back to a customer? I am finding that it doesnt work like how it did with payflowpro. If someone paid $6 and overpaid by $2 we use to be able to just send -$2, but apparently that doesnt work with Authorize.net. Called them and they said Opti isnt passing the proper info. Just wanted to see if this is something similar you have dealt with before digging deeper. Thanks!
Well, you can do the credit via your Authorize.net account. For Authorize.net do this: Go to your Account, login and then go to "Virtual Terminal". Enter the customers billing info, choose: Refund a Credit Card and then submit. For OG do this: Go to Payments and bill the negative amount. Its not that OG is not sending it, its that you cannot bill a credit card for a negative amount. You really have to either do a credit/refund via Authorize.Net or if the transaction has yet to be settled, you can just void it and start over again and re authorize it via OG. Hope this helps.
Ah Bummer. We were able to do negative amounts with payflowpro, which helped with better tracking within optigold. Oh well! We will just adapt to the new method with Authorize Thank you for your quick info and help!
You know, I've not tried it in a while but I think you may be able to do it assuming its the same card that was billed and is done prior to settlement, but I really cannot remember. Its rare we need to do a refund/credit and when we do its because it was fraud.
It is a pretty straight forward process. You just need to get an account setup with Authorize.net and change your info in Optigold. We kept Payflow open a few days just to make sure their weren't any problems before making the change permanent. I would recommend doing it soon since the deadline is quickly approaching.
What do i set my Hub IP address and Hub port number to? I have a username and password ready, are those the only four fields to change? Other then the drop down for authorize.net? Thanks
Ah, there should really be no Hub IP address or Port number at all with Authorize.net All you need do is set your cc auth type to 'realtime' bank debit type to 'export' cc authorized via ' AuthorizeNet' band debit authorized via 'AuthorizeNet' Then your credit card auth login and password That's really it... Not ports or IP's, etc...
Finally getting around to switching and getting this: This account has not been given the permission(s) required for this request. Any ideas on where to start? Thanks
I don't ever remember seeing that error before, so I am not sure where to start. I'd suggest PM'ing the software's author.
Mia, I know I should have known better, but I jumped in hopeful anticipation Anyway I'm good, by bonehead was using my web portal login for authorize.net as the processing username and password, I had to generate an API username and key for the username and password. Pretty dumb mistake I know, but back in the payflow days the usernames and passwords were the same. Thanks!!
