On page SEO is nothing but sticking to your inter-linking your site's posts .
like hyperlinking your older post with appropriate anchor text in newer post.
another concept of on page seo is sticking to your niche. try to make your posts based on the niche. talking about baseball in a internet tutorial blog is totally senseless and has a negative effect on the SEO.

off page SEO is more related to back-linking and back-linking with an appropriate anchor text.the quality of the back-link and other factors do play an important role but stick to the basics and these are important

On-page seo could refer to page title, meta description, meta keywords, use of h tags, the general content on the site, using alt tags on images, making sure that everything that needs to be readable actually is.

on-page is what you do within your website.
off-page is what you do out of your website, on other sites.

On page SEO effects anything related to your physical site. I.E meta tags, content, use of alt tags on images etc. Off page SEO is less predictable and refers to the efforts you make to promote your site through back link building. Type this same question into google and you'll come up with loads of great resources to give you more detailed information. All the best with your site

This has to be spam, doesn't it?

I think it is pretty much self explanatory, but off page at this point pretty much only includes back links.

On page SEO focus on keywords within the content or page while Off page focus on the relevancy of links and the keywords used as anchor text.

To simplify this on-page in more on the content, design, and layout of the website. While off-page is more on promoting your website in the web by building links to gain visitors and rankings.
