Why so? Is there any limitations?

Hey,

I could see with certain domain name checkers that a few 3 letters and 4 letters domain names are available. But could not find even a single one while trying to register. Why so? Is there any limitations to the minimum number of letters with a domain name?

and what is the maximum ? ( or no maximum ? )

Three letter (.com) domains have all been registered and can only be bought on the aftermarket from owners.
The longest allowable domain name is 63 characters. So the last name on the Internet would be http://zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.com/

You could find people are selling 4 letters domain but you may not like them because most of them have odd arrangement of letters.

 

So funny domain name.I wonder who has that imagination to purchase this domain name.Really a genius,I have to say.

 

Yeah many of the domain names are meaning less, yet useless. And they ask big price too.
