I was just checking out the site that is #1 in google for "make money online", What could be disputed as one of the hardest terms to SEO for, and one of the highest competition. the site (on my search anyway) is... moneymakerinfo.blogspot.com/ Looking at the bottom of the site... its full of all the usual tell tale signs on "paid links" or link exchanging, which is obviously a big no no according to google, Well why is this site allowed to do all this and still rank for one for the most lucrative terms around. What this tells me is... Paying for links and link exchanging pays... and it pays well. Life just isnt fair... Rant over!
Google has its limitations. But this is good find. However I believe that they might have done good work on their SEO optimization and should surely have spent money on google adwords. Have you also noticed that their site is on blogspot (blogger) still the top bar of Blogspot is disabled which is against blogger TOS. and they customised the theme very nicely.
Google doesn't necessarily penalise sites who sell links by giving them a SERPs penalty. Rather, they discount the links from that site to external sites, such that the outbound links no longer pass any value. If the site is #1 then it's there because it has a lot of strong backlinks and it is well optimised for those keywords.
those sites really exchanging links I thought it was wrong it is really disappionting and I said many times google results sucks these days
LOL..that's funny. Not only crappy blog, it also deosn't even have it's own domain or hosting - hosted on blogspot. Fell the power of PageRank
Also the owner is selling links and paid reviews, this really makes me think twice the definition of S.E.O.
You're way way off. Obviously with this site at the top, this niche can be dominated by a single savvy webmaster who has a large net of sites linked together Many tougher niches however you have to compete with legitimate sites. Even if you outrank them, you risk losing traffic to them because they are legitimate. just try ranking for sports, fitness, casino, poker, gambling, etc.. "Make money online" is not in the same league
Big G annoys me most of the times and not sometimes! But then, if it was so simple to track their algo down, we all would not be toiling so hard for it! Regards, RightMan
lol, Your right op. Its Googles show and they make the rules. If you don't like it, too bad. Keep up the hard work and it will pay off.
Google might be favoring that site because its an blogspot blog, i dont know it may be true or not but i had seen many blogspot blogs ranking well and quick for many competitive terms.
This is a good point, maybe Google are trying to advertise their services and so the people who use it get a little extra bonus for doing so
Link exchange doesn't allowed by Google. I think the site just get number 1 position in Google SERP for the keyword just for a short-term, not long-term so don't worry. That site will be banned ASAP.
