How to temporarily disable facebook???

I hate my facebook, but I can't bring myself to delete it (tho I may if no other options arise). So I'm curious if there's a way to just block it until I want to use it again. I'd REALLY like it if there's a way to remove it temporarily (and if I want add it back with all of my friends *still* intact).

Is there any such thing/method/etc.? I heard about the seppuku thing, but I don't know if that's what I want really. I don't want to make a statement (like some weird suicidal thing'd be bad) with this, I just really want my account to be temporarily removed but to keep the data intact.

Thank you for your time in advance.

Do they even have support staff? I personally have no idea though, while you can make your account quite private, I'm not sure if you can "suspend" the account so to speak.

I dont think Facebook accounts get deleted for inactivity. Stating the obvious, couldnt you just stop logging in and there no activity?

    Such an informative post...

Anyway, I'm not sure if there is a way to disable Facebook, per se. It basically boils down to self control as to whether you log in or not.

There is a option to deactivate your facebook account, just login and check...
