Search engine giant Google is planning to launch its own mobile device based on Android operating system. The phone is likely to be called as Nexus One, and will be announced at the Mobile World Congress 2010. HTC will manufacture the phone hardware that includes world fastest mobile processor, the Snapdragon 1GHZ. Few websites have also leaked the images of upcoming Google phone. Seems that's Google is looking for a direct competition with Apple on mobile device market.

Price of Google phone is now confirmed as 529.9$ unlocked. T-mobile users in US can get Nexus One for 180 with 2 year contact.
Good though their phone may be, it will face some stiff comprtition from the iPhone. Not the iphone per se but the loads of apps which means you can customize it to the max.
I am giving my 2 thumbs up for this new endeavor of Google. Congratulations for I can smell success on it.
Its not the number of applications in the app store that matter, but its the number of useful applications. None can install applications beyond a limit.

Google's Nexus One is currently feeding dust to other smart phone competitors. I recently published a series of specs comparison between Nexus One and other smartphones. I already published the second part which features Nexus One vs. Palm Pre, the first part was Nexus One vs. iPhone 3Gs.
