Can anyone please give some idea how you drive traffic to your Arcade site? i have one 2 years old Arcade site which is Arcadesib.com i used to get good traffic in 2007 but due other work i forgot about it. now it does not get that much traffic. how can start getting traffic? thanks
Hey everyone, name's Porter. I run a flash arcade site that's doing rather well right now, you can check it out in my signature. Glad to see there's an actual topic for arcade webmasters here, I find that a lot of the strategies we have to use vary from other webmasters for numerous reasons, making the advice on the rest of this site less useful to me than I care for. Anyway, here's a few questions to spark some conversation. What affiliate ads do you guys use if any, and through what networks? (I use gamefly, netflix, realarcade, host gator, all through commission junction, linkshare, and host gator) Where do you find yourself creating the most backlinks when you work on SEO? (I blog comment a lot, free directories, blog post on my own blog, forums, anything relevant I can find really) How long have you had your arcade? What is it's Alexa rank and google page rank? (nearly 1 year for me, 167k on Alexa, PR of 4)
Hey Porter. Nice to see you over on dp too. I agree with having to change things as its an arcade. All i read people saying is write an article about submit to directories, its no use to me. But to answer your questions. I run VCM as primary with CPMstar as default. I tried hostgator, got clicks but no conversions. Ive had my arcade since july, alexa around 410k pr 0. I comment on blogs for backlinks, have noticed a big difference in google serps, yahoo is easy to rank high for but im glad google has risen for me.

Re-Design it so it dont look like the default template would be a good start.. just add fresh games daily and anaylze stats
Can anyone recommend a good VPS hosting for arcade sites? I'm thinking about maybe UltraVPS, RapidVPS or HostGator's VPS servers.
You can try http://www.maxvps.com/ They also have www.eliterax.com for their dedicated servers, which start out at $49.95 a month. I've been running a dedicated with them for about a year now & no issues.
Yeah i think a dedicated server is a must with these types of sites, and you have to make them hook the visitors by giving badges or something.
