Budget to start a PTC/BUX site?

    Hello,

I've wanted to start a PTC (Paid-to-Click)/BUX site for quite a while, and I want to hear from other PTC owners what kind a budget they had when they started out.
I have a couple of hundred dollars on my PayPal, but I know that most of them will be used to pay for script and hosting (I guess...).
Now, what kind a script do PTCs normally use?
I know this topic might be a bit weird atm, but I just want to hear experiences from other PTC owners.

    Thank you.

I've run several PTC-sites before, and I've always used the Aurora script. It's fairly good and solid with good add-ons. The price on the script varies from place to place - you would also want maybe get a unique template as well.

I paid for the http://www.designsbywinter.info/ptcscript.php Aurora script because they have awesome customer service and ongoing support. If I still had a PTC site I'd send you my referral for designsbywinter, but alas. Hosting varies, and a domain is about $10 so you're looking at around $75 to get started.

The best payment plan IMO is to pay everyone on your site monthly if they've earned at least $10. Otherwise, it carries over. You should also have a way to easily convert your credits to links instead of cashing out. And for the love of all that is good, do not make it so that you're paying more than you're earning. FOR INSTANCE

if you earn $10 for 1000 clicks, don't pay members $11. You should pay them more like $9.75. Otherwise your site will collapse. :(

Now people using GeN3 1.4 PTC script sold by ptcpay dot com.
You need to have at least $200 for a comfortable start to cover for marketing and site design.

It really depends on your experience, and knowledge. You could start with less than $100 or you could start with more. Are you going to customize the site yourself or get someone else to do it? You need to ask yourself these questions.

    Thanks for the answers, everyone!
I'll check out the GeN3 1.4 PTC script.

Let's say I want to make my first payout to a member, but I want "NameofBux" to be the sender of the payment, not my real name. How would I do that?

    Thank you.

I tried running a PTC site once, and I failed to follow Devana's advice up there. In the end the site collapsed, quite the learning experience. Make sure you take the time to plan out everything in detail.

$5,000.00 is enough. You must not expect that everyone will advertise on you. You are on your own to put sites in the surf ads page.
Making them feel that you really pay them, will make them invest (premium membership, etc.)
    Then you gain the profit.
Fully managed and fully planning of your PTC will help.

Then they just disappeared in the air. Leaving the clickers hopeless.

It depends bro. It depends on your strategy.
    One thing is for sure.
Nobody will advertise their site, to a program where viewers are paid for viewing their site. :D

Actually, I paid all the members and then sold the sites. :)

AndreasB: To make the name "NameofBux" for example, it depends on whether you pay via Paypal, alertpay or somewhere else. If it's through Paypal, you can start a business account under the Business name "NameofBux" - then the payments will show as from "NameofBux". :)

As long as I had actually paid them it wouldn't been a scam.

Yes. You are right. But you need enough funds to pay them all before starting.
