Apache shared server question

Not sure if this was supposed to go into hosting section or here.

Just wanted to ask if it is possible to point domain from (for example. reg123) to hosting (for example godaddy) which allows multiple sites to be hosted on a single shared hosting. I already have quite a lot of websites on that shared hosting server all of the domains are from godaddy, and the "root" is already taken with my main website. Not sure if that makes any sense.

I am abit confuse by your question but I will try to understand you :) Do you mean that you have domain registered at reg-123 and you wish to host it with GoDaddy? If that is what you mean, it can be done. You just basically need to change the nameservers of your domain to the GoDaddy hosting account's nameservers that are given to you, and add additional domain from your hosting control panel.

Thanks, yes that is what I meant. If I change nameservers the domain will be pointed to the root of my hosting (I don't want that to happen) and I can't find a way to add domain to the hosting from godaddy's control panel, I think the domain must be registered at godaddy to do that :( I've also tried to transfer that domain to them, but I can't find a way how to transfer .co.uk domain.. I've emailed godaddy about this, waiting for their reply.

    http://www.123-support.co.uk/Answer.aspx?ArticleID=295

    - Login to your 123-reg account.
    - In the Domain names section, select the relevant domain name in the drop-down list and click on the Manage button.
    - Select the option you require:
    * Change Nameservers - enter your new hosts' nameservers
    * Change IPS Tag - enter your new agent's IPS Tag

The IPS Tag for godaddy.com is GODADDY as listed here, http://www.nominet.org.uk/registrars/becomeregistrar/taglist/

Then you will need to request for domain transfer at Godaddy side. You will receive some confirmation mail to authorise the transfer. Hope this helps
