I have quite some directories running on phpld, I am wondering other directory owners if you allow users to change the listing after submission? what script you are using or customized one? Is phpld script be able to handle this task? Thanks for sharing...
One of my directories is hand-coded and two run eSyn and I can change listings if needed. I always accomodate change requests unless customer just want to add additional keywords to title.
That depends entirely on the changes they are requesting and the reasons behind them.... For instance a fairly common request is wanting to change the listing to another domain. This is typically only accommodated if they are setting up the same site on a new domain for branding purposes with the old domain being redirected to the new site. In these cases we will go in and make the changes for accuracy purposes. If on the other hand the old site is still active and they just want to switch the listing to another url - then they need to submit the new site because the new site would require a new review. Now in cases where they want to change description or title - we look to see if what they want meets with the guidelines. If it can be accommodated then we do it. If it does not fit we tell them why the changes can not be made and refer them to the guidelines. There are legitimate reasons for adjustments to be made and we accommodate them so long as they are legitimate, requested by the original submitter and still fit our guidelines.
@xc06 If you’re asking if directory script have modify option and if it’s permissible for site owners to change what was already listed, then the answer is No, we do not allow owners to make changes even thou we have Modify option. The reason for that, we had already made review and most likely edited what was submitted and if we let the owner overrule our review with another spammy title and description, then we’ll have to review his changes again and that means waste time for nothing. Said that, we will make changes on request if for example site is no longer sell watches but they are part of description or we will replace snapshot of that site if owner made design changes. fastreplies
I just reviewed a site and rewrote the description, possibly added and/or changed a category and label the title appropriately; It wouldn't make sense to change the listing. IF, you are referring to them changing the site submitted, then definitely not. They know where the submit is. My own. ANY script will allow modifications. No problem. To be honest, this thread sounds more liek a 'plug' than a question, as you have owned directories for 2-3 years.
