I'll admit that it's late at night, I'm overly tired and I should probably be in bed, sleeping. Regardless, I thought I'd post something I'd been working on for a decent amount of time, the five greatest techniques you can use to generate traffic instantly. (However, do keep in mind that these are BROAD and you must THINK to put this advice into action.) 1. If you need traffic now, find a forum related to your niche. Don't find a small forum and hope for a little backlink. Find a gigantic forum. If you need a list, check out: http://www.big-boards.com/. In forums that support it, put your link in your signature in an interesting way (remember, colors are always a plus) and try to sneak it into an original thread with WORTHWHILE AND RELEVANT content. 2. Instead of just forums, find groups. You can use Yahoo Groups (See the "Best of Y! Groups" here: http://advision.webevents.yahoo.com/bestofyahoogroups/) and Google Groups. (You're on your own.) These sites are arranged in such a way that you can instantly enter a keyword for something you're trying ot promote and generate traffic if you have a worthwhile product. 3. Use social media. This includes Twitter, Facebook, Myspace and every other site you can think of that you'd find your friends on. All it takes it one re-tweet by a few people, a couple of friends to joina group or a good idea to create an instant viral hit. 4. Disqus. If you've ever commented on a Disqus blog, you've used it before. Find Disqus-enabled blogs and post WORTHWHILE comments. If your comments get picked up by subscribers, then you will make a lot of traffic flow your way. 5. Use one of the aforementioned methods to begin with, but make your site "invite only." Examples of this include Demonoid and Likaholix. If you offer a sense of exclusiveness, you can generate a large interest and kindly "push" people into telling their friends about your site. That's absolutely it. I'll admit that the fifth point is rather skimpy as it isn't a technique all on it's own, but I thought it was worth posting. Keep in mind that every single one of these points rely upon the fact that you have something either worthwhile or interesting to say. Don't try spamming for viagra online with these techniques, because you'll only be hurting yourself. (Unless, of course, you find an eretile dysfunction forum. Then by all means, cure... Er, I'll quit before I get too far off topic.) Please comment with your thoughts on what I've presented. I'd like to hear what other people think about my ideas. I'm trying to work on my own "collection" of help such as this on my own website (which can be found in my signature, of course) and I thought this would be a decent place to learn.
thanks for sharing this useful information, it really will be helpful for me to increase traffics on my sites.
Every word in fact is correct, but ahhh, need lots of effort, I mean just making lots of people follow on twitter itself will need hell of effort ! ah!
I like where you are going with #5. Even better is to make people FEEL like it is exclusive, even though it is not really. For example, if you are selling a free trial of a product and then telling people they can share it with 5 select friends, and then DOUBLE the length of their free trial, hello targeted traffic.
Twitter it's not that hard to get people to follow you, follow others FIRST, try to follow 300/day and wait each one for 4 days, if they don't follow back, delete them.
I'm glad to hear it and I look forward to hearing your results! It's much harder now than it was several years ago to get people to follow you on Twitter, but it's possible to do so. Building up a good Twitter network, though it takes a lot of work now, is really rewarding in the long run. I can't remember the name of the product, but there was a course sometime back that ran you through using Tweetdeck and the like that showed you how to (literally) get a laser-targetted Twitter following for any keyword. Exactly! There's also a second part of this that is incredibly useful, the fact that if your trial product has a recurring subscription after the trial period ends, people will be most likely to use it after they're had two months of free service. --- I'm glad to hear everyone's positive feedback! For everyone who puts this into action, let me know of your results. I'd love to hear some successes!
Another good one is going to Yahoo Answers and answering questions related to your site. There is a good thread in the main forum right now, that gives an excellent strategy on how to do this.
Good tips. I've never tried working the yahoo groups angle. Had to google Disqus to find out what it was. Looks like it could get to be a pretty big deal.
