I have not used the completed Windows 7. I have only used RC1. But, I still prefer XP to any one of them. That's just me, though.
Windows 7 to me is similar to Windows Vista. There's just some subtle differences in minimizing windows and such. I prefer XP over both for now.
I'm actually running XP on a few of my laptops, it does run very nice. Microsoft really got it right with XP, and having Vista so similar to XP is what draws me to it!
Vista not work properly for me.. it give me trouble.. some of softwre that i need not work in vista but work in win7. Win7 very fast, smooth graphics like linux... if u're linuxer you must try win7...
I'm probably prehistoric as I'm running XP. I think Vista is such a resource hog. When I upgrade ny PC then I'll probably go Windows 7 (if it isn't obsolete by then!)
The only complaint I have thus far is that there seems to be some quirks with forms. I spend a lot of time filling out forms on websites and it seems like with the 'hover' features of the taskbar has caused me to lose A LOT of comments, registrations, emails, etc. Haven't been able to isolate what exactly is causing the page to be refreshed or even submitted without my click, but it does happen quite frequently.
I'm with this guy. I prefer Windows XP over vista. I've used windows 7, but it's not worth the money. Stay with XP.
To all you guys talking about graphic problems... I notice an ENORMOUS effect on performance when I switch back to the classic Windows theme. I think the "Aero" theme is directly related to a lot of performance issues. So just turn it off. Frankly, I'm afraid of Windows 7 for two reasons. On Vista, my laptop has a rating of 2.4/5 on the page that shows how compatible with Vista your computer is. Plus, Vista just released a fix to the glitch that made my computer crash every time it came out of sleep mode. Now that it runs 100% smooth, I have no reason to upgrade until either: My laptop dies and I replace it with a computer that comes with Windows 7 5-10 years from now when programs are no longer compatible with Vista Anyway, who put this thread in the search engine category? EDIT: Oh, and on my desktop which is custom built, I still run a beta version of Vista (the one they released for free during development) with the time stopper crack. Even that seems to work well still even though I've never attempted to run any upgrades. Just makes another reason why I don't feel Windows 7 is worth the investment as of yet.
windows 7 is pretty good, but one of my buddies says hes had some bugs in his system, i dont know if it was just him but i have vista and everythign seems to be good, thankfully
Can't believe people actually find Vista better than Windows 7, leads me to wonder whether they've actually ever even tried Win7 and are posting just for the heck of it. Windows 7 is a complete upgrade over Vista, and not just a cosmetic upgrade. There's been a complete overhaul of the underlying OS which has made it much faster than any previous versions of Windows. Read a review here, though its of a RTM version: http://reviews.cnet.com/windows/microsoft-windows-7-professional/4505-3672_7-33704140.html?tag=contentMain;contentBody
I disagree completely. I have been gaming on Vista for quiet some time with some of the most demanding games. I mean...if you have the hardware to handle it then your good to go. Don't gimp on the hardware. My Vista has not slowed down at all after well over a year and a half. That is your personal experience and is due directly to what ever you were doing on your computer. If you know how to use a computer, keep it clean, and not eff it all up it shouldn't slow at all... Mine hasn't. Amen.
