I thought it might be useful to start a Craigslist Tip Thread. It came to mind when another person had asked about, Squidoo VS Craigslist. So I will start with my useful tip. 1. As long as you don't get flagged and able to have AD up for 48 hours, when you delete and repost, if someone FLAGS it you can IMMEDIATELY repost it again.
So far we have 2 - Come on I know there other people out there using Craigslist. Looking forward to more shares
Ahh this is not caught on as much as I would like- i know there are a few people whom use Craigslist..
No, this is not effective at all. You have to put a lot of work into it just to make sure it is still up.
Perfect tips on how to spam craigslist. Affiliate marketing, CPA, etc. all violates their TOS. But who cares right? If you want to make money on Craigslist and not have to worry about your ads being taken down or deleted, use it for what it's intended. Sell real products. It's a classifieds service.
Ouch.... There a few people whom do well posting Ad's on CL. Just thought it be an interesting thread to throw up and toss around ideas.
This you will find useful in posting on Craigslist. Get a artilce rewriter, Put you ad in the rewriter and include a copy of one paragraph from the Gettysburg Address (for example). Use a small number 1 font with lemon chiffon text for that paragraph. Put the entire ad and paragarph in the rewriter. Use the rewriter on the paragraph with keywords and numbers and you instantly have as many unique ads as you want that all look the same to Craigslist readers but not to there robots. We currently post 2500 ads a day on Craigslist for our customers and this is just one method of getting ads to stick.
a tip on how to post there, because the geo ip blocker blocks all new ads if you don't live in the city..
that is not correct capone. i can post in almost in section of CL without a local IP. there is only one section that gives me trouble which is the autos section. geo blocking is a myth. i dont post thousands of ads a day with proxies if that were the case.
I've found craigslist a great way to increase traffic to my site. I have had the odd post deleted here and there, probably down to my over eagerness to post. Is there any more free ad forums on the net similar to craigslist? If so can you name them please.
I think craigslist is all about how you are using it, and what you are promoting. In my experiences the traffic results from white hat use is minimal, so I would take it that breaking the TOS and blackhat methods are the key to actually seeing relevant levels of traffic. If you want to be white hat with craigslist, use it as a way to generate leads. For example, if you are trying to market to realtors, it is sure easy to get access to them by looking in the right categories, and then reaching out to them directly. I think it is also most valuable for those selling tangible items, as opposed to digital ones. This week, I sold two pairs of old snowboard books and weights and made $100 for stuff that I picked up for free, or have had sitting around forever.
i havent used Craiglist before, but I am thinking of offering seo services there, do you think I can get some client in there? Can you provide tips on how to get clients in Craiglist?
The best thing to do if you are completely new to craigslist is to study your competition if you have any. why re-invent the wheel? if you have competition study what they do apply what you have learned if it makes sense to you.
Whoa. You should always reinvent the wheel. Well, not reinvite, but make shinier and add some rims... maybe even spinners. As far as CL tips go, always make your ad interesting. If you're selling a product or service, you can make it interesting by reading the other ads that have been posted already. Chances are, unless they're repeats, they've gottne at least a few replies already. Remember what I said about adding spinners earlier to the wheel? Do the same thing with the other posts you researched earlier.
We have a whole section on our website on posting on craigslist. Do - Donts - How to get your ad to stck, how to make ads, how to get along on CL without violating their terms of service etc. One quick note, image ads over text ads is preferred and never post a link in the ad.
Wise advice. I think that's how I'm going to go (but it's easy to sometimes forget the little things, so thanks for the timely reminder).
