Is copying reviews from sites like amazon unethical. I'm starting a review affiliate site and haven't personally tried some of the products.

If unethical pherhaps I could research five then average em out and write a new review based on the reviews I read...

    any thoughts?

Not only unethical but also illegal - ever heard of copyright?

As for cobbling togther reviews on products and services you havn't tried - well, there's an internet out there full of sites of reviews from people who have tried the products and are giving their honest and original opinion - why would anybody read your site of made-up reviews? What are you offering the reader? Lies?

I'm not trying to lie to anyone that's why I'm asking the question. I wouldn't be bothered if the review was re-written as long as the information from the other reviews were honest and correct.

I was thinking of writing the review using words like some say and most people feel this way...etc. I could also write a disclaimer saying that I I've researched the product reviews and this is what I found. Or I could just get the products and try them myself...which could be costly. Maybe I can contact companies for samples...

Most marketers haven't used the products they are promoting if they are affiliates. Who's gonna go out and spend a few hundred dollars on Clickbank products just to give a review of it? Unless the vendor is willing to give away a review copy which not all of them are. You can still do some research on what other people think of the product and reword them because then you're not misleading anyone.

As far as your question though, you can't just steal reviews off Amazon as far as I know. But I don't see why you can't reword them and say something like "This is what some people have said about it"
