Problems in switching my blog on another host

    Hello,

I have a problem with switching my blog to a new host.

I have a rented server which I want to close down with several sites on it. I managed to move all of them except a single blog. I can't find the blog files on the server and neither is the domain listed as an add-on. The site obviously is on the server as the nameservers point to it and the blog is loading and working fine for years.

I tried all possible options to find the files, including an general "file manager" search, with no success.

On the blog I have the wordpress 2.2 version. The only solution left for me was to export an .xml file from the wordpress admin log-in.

After that I went to the new host uploaded same wordpress version, the 2.2 one, with same template I had on the original site. I changed the nameservers on the domain, installed wordpress and logged in as admin.

Next step was to use the import file and to import the previously exported .xml file. The problem is that I get an error during the "importing" process:

Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 65536000) (tried to allocate 1441 bytes) in /home/abcdef/public_html/domain.com/wp-admin/import/wordpress.php on line 110

I tried to solve it with the options listed here:
    http://techpp.com/2009/07/10/how-to-fix-php-fatal-error-out-of-memory/

    No success though. :(

I can't find the 1)php.ini file and I get an error while trying to solve the issue with point 2).

I used tips 3) and 4) but no success still getting the same Fatal error.

Can anyone please help me out here, as I have an empty blog since over 24 hours and I don't want to lose this site.

Thank you. Any help is appreciated!

ok, have you checked your old server if the database exists for your site?

Well that's the main issue, I can't find my site anywhere on the old server, neither files or database. I switched nameservers back to the old server and site is back live on the old server. So this gives me a few more days to solve the issue.

Any idea how to back-up the blog? I have wp-admin and server access of course. Can't find the database or the site files on the server though.

As mentioned above I searched all databases and all files with the search available in the file manager section. So it's impossible for me to miss them.

    Any ideas?

ok, There is a way to find where the files reside on the server, for that you first need to check if you were able to edit your theme from admin (or) upload a new plugin, PM me for more help :)
