It seems that Google is going to vanish its page rank toolbar. so many webmasters are also saying this thing. Is it a rumour or truth. What you guys think?

Why would they spend the time to update it and then "vanish" it?

Well, maybe they'll just forward the management and development to the open source community. :D

It would not surprise me. People focus way to much on PR. I have sites that rank just fine with little to no PR.

pretty sure it's a rumour, PR and Google are closely associated, why would they want to turn their back on this?

    Hi,

I myself have been asking why Google seems to be
vanishing it's PR tool. I found an article on wikipedia
about some Google announcements. Yet they haven't
removed PR yet in their toolbar.

However, when I checked the code provided by Google
for programmers to check PR rank, it's no longer working
so I guess it's pretty much headed there..

    All the best,

    Omar Diaz

that's remain an option, but one of Google employee said that PR removed from "Google Webmasters" only to show that they are serious when they talk about not to focus on PR like this "sell/buy PRs"
