Its not hard to determine the real PP site as you can check the site validity by have a look at the SSL.
As long as you know your stuff you should be OK. By that I mean I only visit Paypal by typing it into Google or directly into my browser to avoid any fraudulent phishing sites.
It does appear very scary and can really pose serious problems for many. Is it too much to make it mandatory to reserve such names for the already established synonymous brands? Regards, RightMan
I feel that for those bank sites and Paypal, Ebay etc, some regulation will do us good and avoid much grieve.
Checking the URL and the SSL is the best thing to do. Once you know the real thing, you can't be deceived.
I have to agree, it's best to just check the SSL and be careful. Always nice when something comes along to make our lives a bit more interesting.
There's no reason that раураӀ.com (that's done with Cyrillic) characters can't have a valid SSL certificate. You'd have to look really closely at the details of the certificate (fingerprint, etc.) to notice. Nobody does that.
