How to increase traffic?

I have a website with daily 150-170 visits. I want to increase traffic on it.

Please suggest me some useful tips.

this topic has been discussed many times in this forum ,you can use search function to check it out . Basically you can do is SEO your site, add unique content to your site and increase backlinks for your site.

First thing that I noticed is that your keywords that you are using on site are quite broad. Try narrowing them down a little bit more and go from there. Do some article marketing, create backlinks using an equal share of keyword anchor text and the URL as anchor text. Do this through article marketing, and also use a service like Directory Maximizer to create listings for your site. That alone will wield some awesome results, just focux on those keywords. They are quite broad, if you want to get well targeted traffic in, focus on much less broad keywords, then work on the broad keywords when your authority rises alot more.

 

Post some quality articles and promote it offline to large publishing companies or targeted group of people.

 

Social Media is great, anything Web2.0, however, you want to build up targeted traffic first in my opinion, this will in turn populate the web 2.0 sites and will work more in your favour. Speaking from personal experience with that one.

Because its a entertainment site I would use social media sites like Twitter, Facebook and video marketing , submit videos to top video sharing sites.

I looked at your site it does not seem to have any share buttons, to make visitors share your content to Twitter, digg or other sites. Having this will make your site go viral.

I would also comment on blogs or forums related to my niche also...

I would also run competitions online and offline -for the best film/ music or fashion idea etc.. get visitors more involve.

 

if you want traffic you need good and unique content. So people share your site...you get more backlinks and you more traffic. That is the secret.

 

I wonder why a lot of people say that they gain traffic through social bookmarking like stumble upon , digg etc but am not gaining any except for twitter and facebook

Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, even Digg, Reddit, etc.. havent increase traffic on ANY of my websites.

Only ROI PPC campaigns increased traffic but didnt lead to any sales

Yahoo Answers do help gaining traffic. And that traffic is good as search engine traffic too. You can gain traffic from bookmark sites like stumbleupon or reditt but those don't convert well as yahoo answers traffic or search engine traffic.

 

There are alot of "Indian" sub-culture forums around, get on one and start posting. Or you can pay a PTC site, to get you up in the google rankings.

 

Use press release, classified with region wise, and networking sites.
